There
are many fascinating places to visit and things to see in Tonopah and the
surrounding areas, the
Central Nevada Museum
offers extensive information about the history of central Nevada,
including outdoor displays of miner's cabins and railroad artifacts.
The Museum will open May 1, 2004.

The
Tonopah Historic Mining Park
collects, restores and displays mining artifacts on
the site and in the
original buildings. The park is located on the original mining claim
that started the rush to Tonopah making it the "Queen of the Silver
Camps", and covers over 100 acres.

Sixty
miles north of Tonopah is the Round Mountain Golf Club, an oasis in the
desert. The golf club sports the longest nine-hole course in Nevada, a
driving range, bar and restaurant.

Belmont is
located on the southeast slope of the Toquima Range just 40 miles from
Tonopah at an
elevation of almost 8000 feet above sea level. The often photographed
ruins of Belmont are silent reminders that Belmont once had more than 2000
residents. The Historic
Belmont Inn
Bed and Breakfast offers overnight accommodations, and is a
must see while visiting Belmont.

Tonopah
Library-167 S. Central-Tonopah (past the Tonopah Convention

Historic Tonopah Library. Built in 1906. This is
the oldest library in the state still in operation. Located next door to the Tonopah
Library.
Historic Goldfield Courthouse. Built in 1907. This all original building is
still in operation. They provide free tours Monday through Friday from 8am to
5pm. The building contains the original Tiffany Lamps and seats and tables
covered in cowhide leather. Heading south from Tonopah on Hwy 95, drive 26
miles to Goldfield located on the left-hand side.
